Coroico
“Wow” I said motioning to the signs that advertised almuerzo (a set meal for lunch usually including a bowl of soup, and a plate of meat, rice, and potatos) for 7 Bs (one dollar). “One could travel very cheaply in Bolivia”.
“Yeah” Tom agreed, “but that girl we met on a bus to Lima was right, it’s not that you really end up traveling that much cheaper. It’s that you spend about the same, but your quality of travel increases exponentially”.
Seeing as we just left a hotel in the beautiful town of Coroico which included a pool, gardens, sauna, and a lovely breakfast buffet every morning I couldn’t really disagree. The french fondue and bottle of wine from the evening before that sat in my tummy may have had something to say if I disagreed as well. Interestingly enough though it feels as though we have been traveling quite luxuriously since entering Bolivia it has been incredibly easy to stick to our meager budget of 60/day for the two of us. $60 is 420 Bs, which we would be hard pressed to spend over 24 hours.
Coroico was a lovely 5 days of beautiful views and crazy groups of mosquitos that would ruthlessly attack with no warning.

We were too busy takin’ it easy and enjoying the good life to do anything interesting enough to write about, or even to take more than 3 pictures!
